Designed to fit into the original 7.2V NiCad battery slot located on Tamiya TT-01 car chassis, the fuel cell power unit is designed as a futuristic power source using light emitting air cooling fans. The new power source combines an ultra-compact air-cooled PEM fuel cell system with a scaled down fuel storage unit that includes a rack of 3 metal hydride canisters each including 10 liters of solid-state (low pressure) hydrogen gas. Measuring only 3.5cm x 5.5cm x 8cm, the small fuel cell unit produces up to 30W of nominal power, and extra power boost for acceleration using super capacitors charged by the fuel cell.

This hydrogen fuel cell upgrade kit for RC hobby cars is an evolving product and on the leading edge of hydrogen power technology. At present, the H-cell performs best in summer temperatures of above 70F, or 25C. Performance and design improvements will continue to widen the temperature range over the next months. A very sleek, adaptable car body shell has been designed as an accessory for the H-cell upgrade kit. Hydrogen canister chargers will be made available for sale by Horizon later this year. In the meantime, contact your local H-cell dealer about canister refilling services.
