Horizon developed a broad proprietary technology platform enabling the full integration of fuel cell solution development, from materials and components to system design, fuel cell assembly, electronics and software development, fueling solutions and final product development.
Since late 2005, and with the achievement of significant cost reduction and core technology milestones, Horizon shifted its focus towards creating complete, turn-key power solutions. Horizon's delivery capability now goes beyond fuel cell stacks and materials, and includes software development and electronics design, as well as system integration and engineering.
As a result of parallel efforts in materials, manufacturing, and performance enhancements Horizon developed several unique fuel cell solutions, including thin- film fuel cells a solution that Horizon plans to develop into useful power products for consumer electronics. In addition to these new architectures, Horizon also innovated on fueling solutions, including chemical hydride fueling solutions.
