George Gu, President & CEO
Prior to founding Horizon, George Gu was leading Eastman Chemical Company’s venture capital activity in mainland China. He participated in over 20 venture investments made by Eastman Ventures, with a focus on Asia-Pacific. His roles included VP Business Development for Asia Biznet, and interim CEO for Jinqiao eCommerce. George also led Eastman’s Asian Business Development team in developing advanced material opportunities, with a specific focus on fuel cells. George also has experience in marketing, channel development and business planning with Canon Inc and Eastman Kodak. George holds an MBA from University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) and B.S. in Finance from Fudan University.

Taras Wankewyczm, Director, Business Development
A native of France, Taras has 10 years of business development experience in the chemical industry, corporate technology venturing, and consulting in UK, France and US. Taras was New Business Development and global project leader for venture development in sustainable technology sector at Eastman Chemical Co. Europe, E-business manager, growth strategy leader for Eastman in Eastern Europe. Head of European sales - Frost & Sullivan Chemicals practice, E-business strategy consultant with Halogen/Arkwright. B.A Business Administration.

Dr. Arthur Koschany, Acting CTO
Dr. Koschany is regarded as one of the most respected and innovative fuel cell scientists in the world. He invented the Norvas Mid-range fuel cell technology with 10 patents. He is Founder of Norvas GMBH, and Chief Fuel Cell Scientist of Manhattan Scientifics.

Jimme Beismeijer, Acting CFO
A native of Holland, Jim served as Senior equity & derivatives trader at UBS Warburg and Julius Baer in Zurich, Switzerland for over 5 years, where he was responsible for managing all the risk in the food, insurance & automotive sectors. He was also responsible for managing the interest rate risk for all equity & derivatives departments, as well as for designing PnL calculations. Prior to his experiences in Zurich, Jim was a senior options broker in Sydney, Australia . Jim holds a Bachelor Degree from HES Rotterdam in The Netherlands.

Mr. Liu, Manufacturing R&D
Mr. Liu has extensive marketing, sales and operational experience with both multinational companies and start-up companies in China. Before joining Horizon as one of its first investors, Mr. Liu served as Supply Chain manager at Hitachi China, conducted sales for Rysan Company, and later returned to Hitachi Material Company as Assistant General Manager of Hitachi China Home Appliance Materials Ltd. He has also founded two companies in the past 5 years. Mr Liu is instrumental in developing essential material science, advanced material manufacturing capability, and further of Horizons market-enabling technology platform
