Advanced Membrane and Electrode Assembly (MEAs) TVN uses a proprietary catalyst ink composition to insure an optimal balance of electric and ionic conductivity and hydrophobic/hydrophilic composition for gas and water management. To ensure uniformity and consistency of MEA catalyst layers, TVN Systems has developed a novel method of ink deposition. TVN Systems uses proprietary methods and materials to manufacture high quality, high performance Membrane and Electrode Assemblies (MEA), the heart of the fuel cell. TVN uses a novel approach to create an MEA with optimal performance at both high and low current densities and resistance to freezing. TVN's MEA comes complete with Gas Diffusion Layers (GDL) attached for easy and economical assembly into PEM fuel cell stacks. TVN's MEA uses pure Nafion® 112 to ensure good performance without the durability problems of ultra thin or composite membranes. TVN offers MEAs optimized for both serpentine and interdigitated flow field designs. The chart illustrates the performance of the TVN Systems MEA. This
data shows that excellent performance is achieved under real world conditions
(ambient pressure, dry air cathode, etc.). Active Gas Management Technology (AGM) TVN Systems has developed and patented Active Gas Management (Patent No. 6,503,651) technology to ensure their stacks can sustain high power density operation. State of the art gas diffusion layers are used to assist in gas and water management, which is crucial to MEA performance. TVN Systems use only pure Nafion® membranes to ensure both longevity
and high performance of MEAs. TVN Systems has developed high performance
serpentine and interdigitated flow fields, which provides for improved
gas and water management, thus allowing for sustained operation at high
power density. State of the art material is used for flow field(s),
minimizing the voltage lost due to ohmic resistance. |
