| Description | Founded in 1992 Medis Technologies is applying the accumulated knowledge of leading Russian-Israeli scientists and cutting-edge technology developed for military use to create proprietary products for civilian use. It is developing compressors, a new type of internal combustion engine, batteries, and fuel cells. The fuel cell technology used by Medis is based on direct liquid methanol (DLM) and ethanol fuel cells, At present, the company has two products: the Power Pack, a small portable fuel cell which can be used for powering mobile phones, PDAs, laptops and similar devices; and the company’s fuel cell military product which provides the needed energy for electronic applications used by foot soldiers.
Medis is working with General Dynamics to develop a portable military fuel cell powered PDA and aims to present a first prototype in 2004. |
