| Description | Danish Power Systems is a development, research and consulting company working in the field of electro-chemistry, mainly related to energy technology. Danish Power Systems’ specialists have researched and developed the new technology for the next generation of PEM fuel cells. Since 1994 consultant assignments and to a lesser extent government funding have financed the company’s fuel cell research. The system consists of a PEM fuel cell, that can be connected to other fuel cells into a stack. A reformer to match the stack reforms methanol into hydrogen. This method is well known, but the significant advantage of the system is the new material, PBI (polybenzimidazol), used for the membrane.
The chief aim of the company's research is to develop high temperature PEM fuel cell technology based on this membrane, that can operate at up to 200 degress C. |
